Dell announces new Atlantis HyperScale solutions

Last week Dell became the latest hardware vendor to announce a partnership with software defined storage manufacturer Atlantis Computing.

Atlantis have been offering their hyperconverged platform hyperscale since spring 2014 and launched with support from Supermicro, Cisco, Lenovo and HP, with Dell now on board this completes the line-up of top vendors for Atlantis. For Dell not only have they now caught up with their competition but they are the first to support Atlantis's RoBo (Remote Office Branch Office) solution made up of 2 nodes making it the ideal entry point for a small scale VDI roll-out.

Their are three models in the Dell Hyperscale range the CX-4 (RoBo), CX12 and CX24, offering 4TB, 12TB and 24TB useable capacity respectively, all of these models make use of the Dell FX2 hardware platform that also includes integrated 10Gb switching unlike their compeition further lowering the price point for those of you without existing 10Gb infrastructure that is required for Hyperscale.

The Dell Atlantis CX-4 will be available later this month through ComputerWorld and other Dell authorised partners.
